I was lucky to find this photo of Austin McDonald, the older brother of my great-great-grandfather, Rev. Claiborne McDonald Sr.
I don't know much about Austin McDonald besides some information about his time during the Civil War.
Austin McDonald was enrolled in Co. I, 7th Miss. Infantry Regiment. He was severely wounded at Jonesboro, GA. A bullet passed through his jaw and neck. He was listed as a patient in Ocmulgee Hospital, Macon, GA. He did survive this injury.
Austin was born in August 19th, 1834 and died in February 17th, 1907.
